THE IMPLEMENTATION OF OVERHAUL GAME ON STUDENT’S VOCABULARY MASTERY IN KINDERGARTEN ( RA ) NURUL HUDA RABASAN CAMPLONG ACADEMIC YEAR 2015

In teaching English there are “four skills”. They are listening,
speaking, reading, and writing. The students will get easy in mastering all
of the skills if they can master some vocabularies, because vocabulary will
support the learning of language skill development.
There are three research focuses in this study. The first, the
implementation of Overhaul Game on students vocabulary mastery in
Islamic Kindergarten (RA) Nurul Huda Rabasan Camplong. The second
and third, the advantagies and weakness faced by the teacher in
implementing Overhaul Game on students vocabulary mastery in Islamic
Kindergarten (RA) Nurul Huda Rabasan Camplong.
In this research, the researcher used qualitative approach. While
kind of research, the researcher uses descriptive research. Because It is
intended to describe how the teacher implements, the advantagies and
weakness faced by the teacher in implementing Overhaul Game on
students vocabulary mastery in Islamic Kindergarten (RA) Nurul Huda
Rabasan Camplong.
The result of this research found that Overhaul Game is
implemented by the English teacher in teaching vocabulary. In the third
meeting the teacher divided the class into some groups. The teacher gave
explanation to the students what should they have to do such the students
arrange the uncomplete pictures to be complete picture then the students
described it. the teacher implemented the overhaul game well. The english
teacher in implementing the overhaul game on students vocabulary
mastery in Islamic Kindergarten Nurul huda based on the three steps are
them pre-teaching, whilsht-teaching and post-teaching. Additionally, there
were some advantageous and weakness that the teacher faced during the
activities in teaching learning process, those are: the advantagies are The
students were happy study english language especially in vocabulary
subject while play the game, In this game beside make the students have
fun, it makes the students think and effort how the pictures complete well,
so, here the students will think how finish the game well. The teachers
weakness are the teacher got difficulty to give suitable material if the
teacher used the same game in teaching vocabulary mastery. The teacher
got difficulty to prepare thing which is suitable with the material such
realia. The teacher got difficulty to manage the time.
Based on the result above, it is suggested for the English teacher to
select a good game which is suitable with the condition of the students in
the next. The teacher also should make the situation of the class is more
lively in order the students can study well.
