STUDENTS’ RESPONSE ON LECTURE COMMENT IN SPEAKING SUBJECT AT THE SECOND SEMESTER OF TBI DEPARTEMENT IN STAIN PAMEKASAN

Teaching and learning are one of the activities to transfer the knowledge
between the students and lecturer. The way to deliver or transfer knowledge has
many variations depend on how the actor of teaching and learning process is
conducted. The roles of lecture also determine the students understanding to the
material. In learning English, the lectures have to give clear explanation in order
to make the students understand the material. Base on the background of the
students’ skill in English, the students have different kind in using English a target
English language.
The focuses of this study are what the students’ responses on lecture’s
comment are in English speaking subject at the second and what are the factors
that influence to the students’ responses on lecture’s comment in English speaking
subject at second Semester. While the object of the first focus is to explore the
students’ responses on lecturer comment in English speaking subject at the second
Semester and To describe the influence factors of students’ responses on lecturer
comment in English speaking subject at the second Semester.
This research is done to know the students’ response on lecture’s comment
in speaking subject at the second semester of TBI department in STAIN
pamekasan and to know the focus is to explore the students’ responses on lecturer
comment in English speaking and what are the factors that make the student’s
response on lecture’s comment from the students. This research use descriptive
design. The researcher uses three ways to get data: observation and interview, and
documentation. While the subject of this study in English students in the second
semester of TBI department in speaking subject.
There are many kind of response appear from students. The responses
come when the lectures deliver the material in teaching learning process. silent,
bored, understand, not understand, misunderstanding, need more explanation,
confuse, have difficulty, ask to lecture’s and friends, boring, noisy, smile or laugh,
ask to repeat, tired interesting, try to understand, ask to translation into Indonesian
language, enjoy, pay attention, make joke, shy, afraid, unconfident, and nervous.
and the factors of student’s response on lecture comment are so fast, new
vocabulary or not familiar, don’t have many vocabulary, lecture’s very funny,
different method, enjoy, pronunciation is not clear or spelling, voice not loader,
full English or mix language, have problem. Using grammar or tense, not focus,
nervous or not confident, not appropriate the material, use style of British or
American.
In this study, the researcher suggests that lecture have given clear
explanation. They have to give motivate their students to develop their English
speaking skill. Sometimes, the students have to study hard, they have to prepare to
the material well before enter the class.
