In learning English, there are four English basic skill that must be taught to
English learners that are; listening, speaking, reading, and writing. But, speaking
becomes the most important one and demon to be mastered because actually, all
English learners have the same god that is they can be seen successful in learning
English is when they are able to use the language or can speak accurately an fluently
with other people.
This research has two problem, the first Does the use of multilingual
environment have effect on the students’ speaking skill at Ummul Quro As-Suyuty
Islamic Boarding School Plakpak Pagantenan Pamekasan? And the second is how
significant is the effect of multilingual environment on the students’ speaking skill at
Ummul Quro As-Suyuty Islamic Boarding School Plakpak Pagantenan Pamekasan?
This study the researcher used quantitative research, and the researcher used
Expos Facto design which to establish possible cause and effect between independent
and dependent variable whit is multilingual environment as independent variable and
speaking skill as dependent variable. In this case, the researcher take two class as
sample into two group, the first group as experimental group with 25 students’ that
given treatment (MA) and the second one into the control group with 25 students’
didn’t given treatment. Every groups given test. They are, pre-test and post-test as
orally interview of students’ with four questions.
The researcher gotten the result the mean of pre test on experimental group is
63. While the mean of control group is 65 while the mean of post test on
experimental group 73 and the mean post test on control group is 69. The test will
accept if the t-value that have gotten is higher than t-table and the results of reliability
of pre test showed that r11 (0,7860) is higher than rt (0,381) in significance level 5%.
So, it showed that pre test was reliable. Then, the researcher consulted the result of
post test. The research found the result that the r11(1,082) is higher than r-table (0,381)
in significant level 5%. It showed that post test was variable. The researcher analysis
data by using t-test. Based on prove the result of the data found that the value of t-test
is higher than t-table either in 5%, or 1 %(5% = 2,01 2,039).
But, in this case, the researcher used significance 5% is 5%=(2,01
