Reading is an activity to gain knowledge and information. Versatility this
reading is a skill that is very unique and important role for the development of
science and to a communication tool for the life of every human being. Someone
will get infortmation and new knowledge by reading. In reading we often know a
lot of books we had to read. One of them is the comic. Comic is very popular,
because comic are one of the most enjoy doing in reading among children, but not
only children who become fond of comics. As we know, comic was easy to find
even in many bookstore a wide variety of comics with all kinds of stories, reading
comics at the rental facility is also easily found and where the comics are very
much demand. In the comics is dominated by images as if speaking and the
picture form a narrative in a story in comics,comic included in the category of
addition to presenting the story, comic is also interesting to read, in the comics
children’s literature, because the story was so greatly admired by children.
Moreover, in also has pictures interesting as a support to interest the reader
especially children.
There are problem statement in this study. The problem is: What kind of
Politeness principle’s Violation on Crayon Shinchan Comic Volume 3 by
YoshitoUsui based on Geoffrey Leech’s Perspective?. The purpose of this
researchTo describe out how the violations of politeness Principle violation’s on
crayon shinchan comic volume 3 by yoshitousui based on geoffrey leech
perspective.
This research used descriptive qualitative method. The theories used to analyze
the problem are sought by using literature studies, then collecting data that is
assumed to be a violation of the SopanSantunmaksim maxims from the data
source. After that the data is collected into the data sheet and categorized
according to the name of the maxim that is violated. Then after all the data has
been collected, the data begins to be analyzed and described using the existing
theory.
Based on the analysis of violation of SopanSantun Principle in the Crayon
Shinchancomic Volume 3, the authors draw the following conclusions. First, the
violation of the maxims of the Principle of Police by Geoffrey Leech in the
Crayon Shinchan Volume 3 comic, which is a sentence that serves to mock, ask,
complain, express, rule, proclaim and brag. Secondly, by analyzing the violations
of the Politeness Principle maxims in this comic, the character of the Shinchan
characters can also be known. The character is like mocking other people,
blaming others for what they do themselves, like to rule the elderly, and often not
sympathetic to the misfortunes that happen to others. From this it can bev
concluded that this comic is not suitable as a reading for children because it is
feared they will imitate what is captured from the speeches in this comic.
