SLANG AND CONSTRUCTION OF COMMUNITY IDENTITY (A CASE STUDY OF STUNTRIDE “BADOENK EXTREME RIDER” COMMUNITY)

Language is an integral part of human behavior. It is primary means of
interaction between people. in Indonesia is Indonesian Stuntride Association
(ISA),According World freestyle/stuntride Indonesia continues to grow. One keen
to make the world move forward freestyle to Roy, the skills of the freestyler in
Indonesia is growing rapidly. They can quickly adapt to new regulations and
existing techniques. In society, sometimes people use a language that generally
known by their group. This language actually called by slang. Badoenk Extreme
Rider is the community that focuses on the motorcyclefreestyle, the community
also have a high brotherhood with other community. This community has many
riders, every rider has a different character to do the action on motorcycle, and
this community also has a different character with other community. this
community has a vocabulary to do some trick.
In this study, the researcher collage as data from observation and
interviews. Besides, the researcher take the picture and documentation on a
stuntride activity, in the training do activities in the process. In the process, after
that, the researcher analyze with data collection which exis.
The result showed the slang. First, slang is one of the language variation
which is used to communication among members and in this case, slang is
informal language bacause the language usage only used by a community or
spesific group. So that person who is out of the group will not understand and
comprehend what he or she said or what he or she mean which is talked by the
members of the group. Because of that, slang is called by the special language.
Second, Community is a group of person that have a same vision, purpose or goal.
They created their own territory in some activity and they usually give name for
their community such as researcher want to talk about community of stunter
“Badoenk Extreme Rider”. The last, Badoenk Extreme Rider are community
which are moves on stuntride activity
