Writing is one of four skills which is taught in educational setting.
Writing needs some techniques to make the students easy in understanding the
content of a material or a text.As stated by Ahmad Dahlan in educational setting
learning, technique portfolio is one of learning techniques that is used especially
to teach writing. It can make the students easier to comprehend the material.
There are two research problems in this research. The first one is there any
correlation between portfolio assessment ada student s writing english
achievement at the seventh grade of SMP N1 Galis and how significant statistical
is the correlation between portfolio assessment and students’writing english
achievement at the seventh grade of SMP N1 Galis are.
This research is conducted to know is there any correlation between
portfolio assessment ada student s writing english achievement at the seventh
grade of SMP N1 Galis and how significant statistical is the correlation between
portfolio assessment and students’writing english achievement at the seventh
grade of SMP N1 Galis
The result of this research showed There is correlation between portfolio
assessment and students writing English achievement at the seventh grade of SMP
N1 Galis. So, the students who have good score in writing English achievement
does have good result the teachers by using portfolio assessment. There is
statistically significance the correlation of portfolio assessment and students
writing English achievement at the seventh grade of SMP N1 Galis. The
presentation of hypothesis r value higher than r table but the interpretation
hypothesis is low. The use technique portofolio make The students can be
motivated, enthusiastic, and easier tocomprehend the material
Based on the result of research above, the researcher concludes that
portfolio technique is a good technique that can be used by the teacher to teach
english writing achievement because this technique can make the students easier
in comprehending the material. It is suggested for the other researchers who want
to conduct the research about the use of technique portfolio with different aspect.
Hopefully, this study gives knowledge for all, especially in education context
