THE IMPLEMENTATION OF FORFEIT CARD GAME ON STUDENT’S SPEAKING SKILL AT TENTH GRADE OF MA AL-FURQON TLANDUNG BANYUATES SAMPANG

In learning English, there are four skills. They are listening, reading,
speaking and writing. But speaking is a major skill in English subject. So as an
English teacher should choose the best way to make speaking class more
interactive and enjoy. Forfeit Card Game is one of game that the English teacher
in MA Al-Furqon Tlandung Banyuates Sampang has implemented to teaching
speaking subject at tenth grade.
There are two research focuses in this study. The first, how the teacher
implements Forfeit Card Game on to teach speaking skill at tenth grade of MA
Al-Furqon Tlandung Banyuates Sampang. The second, how Forfeit Card Game
enhances students’ speaking skill at tenth grade of MA Al-Furqon Tlandung
Banyuates Sampang.
In this research, the researcher uses qualitative approach. While kind of
research, the researcher uses descriptive research. Because the researcher
describes the implementation of Forfeit Card Game on students’ speaking skill at
tenth grade of MA Al-Furqon Tlandung Banyuates Sampang, and how Forfeit
Card Game enhances students’ speaking skill at tenth grade of MA Al-Furqon
Tlandung Banyuates Sampang. To collect the data, the researcher uses
observation by entering to the classroom directly, interview with the students and
the teacher, and documentation by taking picture in the teaching learning process.
The result of this research found that the implements Forfeit Card Game
on students’ speaking skill at tenth grade of MA Al-Furqon Tlandung Banyuates
Sampang uses three steps. They are pre-teaching where the teacher gives greeting
and warming up, whilst teaching where the teacher applies Forfeit Card game,
and post-teaching where the teacher gives conclusion and closes the lesson.
Forfeit Card Game enhances students speaking skill, it is proved when the student
give description of the card.
Based on the result of research above, Forfeit Card game implemented in
the teaching speaking skill at tenth grade of MA Al-Furqon Tlandung Banyuates
Sampang. because it can enhance students’ motivation, achievement and develop
students’ speaking skill. The teacher also implemented this game well.
