THE IMPLEMENTATION OF MIND MAPPING STRATEGY ON STUDENTS’ WRITING PARAGRAPH AT THE ELEVENTH GRADE OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL 1 GALIS

Writing is very important because writing is one of skills that makes the
language becomes the written text that can be read by the other, it will make the
learners more creative and they can show their idea or expression in writing. The
phenomena the students consider that the writing is more difficult because when
doing writing activity, the students must be required to the content, organization,
vocabulary, language use and the students should arrange and organize the ideas
clearly so, the readers does not understand on what they write. Teaching writing
can use many strategies such as Clustering, Free Writing, Diagram of Ideas and
Mind Mapping. A mind map is a visual thinking tool that can be applied to all
cognitive functions, especially memory, learning, creativity and analysis.
The focuses of this study are how is the implementation of mind mapping
strategy on students’ writing paragraph at the eleventh grade of senior high school
1 Galis, how the students’ responses of mind mapping strategy on students’
writing paragraph at the eleventh grade of senior high school 1 Galis is. While the
objective of the first focus is to describe the implementation of mind mapping
strategy on students’ writing paragraph at the eleventh grade of senior high school
1 Galis, and the second is to know the students’ responses of mind mapping
strategy on students’ writing paragraph at the eleventh grade of senior high school
1 Galis.
This research is to know the implementation of mind mapping strategy on
students’ writing paragraph and to know how the responses appear from the
students. This research use descriptive qualitative design. The researcher uses
three ways to get data: interview, observation and documentation. While the
subject of this study is the student’s in eleventh grade of senior high school 1
Galis.
The result of this research showed when the teacher implements of mind
mapping strategy on students’ writing paragraph. The students’ writing paragraph
well, and also more active, enjoy in the writing paragraph.
In this research, the researcher suggest that the teacher have to emphasize
the students to be practices English wherever in a place a teacher must gives
opportunity to students convey their opinion and make into English as
communication language in the teaching learning process
