THE STUDY OF MAIN CHARACTER’S INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL CONFLICT IN THE EVERMORE NOVEL WRITTEN BY ALYSON NOEL

A literary work as the result writing creativity is also formed from
inspiring throught lifes experience than other imagination. As one of the
example is novel. In it the author convey sentiment, wish dan problems
that she or he faced in lifes. We know about novel is indicates on
presenting of story but beside that there is a benefit that we can learn
within it. in which the author is also convey a messages throught the story.
Conflict is part of us that we have to deal with it. conflict can be
appear within ourself (internal) or we conflict with outside from ourself
(external). Even though conflict is something we don’t want because the
appearance bring us into unpleasant situation but throught it, conflict gives
us studying in life. Here the researcher research about the internal and
external conflict that faced by the main character the novel Evermore by
Alyson Noel. There are two aspect that is researched the first is what is the
internal and external conflict faced by the main character in the Evermore
Alyson Noel and how the main character solves the conflict.
This research use library research desain by descriptive analysis
method to obtain the information from the data source. And descriptive
analysis is to describe the fact of the internal and external conflict that
faced by the main character then analyze it. And this research use an
objective and psychological approach. Because this research only
investigated on the literary work it self without any relation with outside of
that literary work. While psychlogical approach is what the author resulted
in her or his literary work is the form of the result that influenced by the
psychological author condition. In which it interpret into paragraph,
diologs and statements in the finding.
The result of this research is draw about the internal and external
conflict faced by the main character in the Evermore novel by Alyson
Noel by use the theory of Edward H. Jones. The internal conflict that faced
by the main character is Ever is life in profound loss of lossing whole
family. She is blamed, despair, empty and by her ability it made Ever felt
so overwhelming. Ever is also jealosy and wonder because she see the
mysterious on Damen. While the external conflict exactly in social conflict
Ever has conflict with Stacia Miller, with her friend Haven, the oracle
Ava, Damen and Drina. in psysical conflict Ever is also conflict with the
fog, shivering against the cold and a rock. The resolution of conflict the
main character solved the conflict throught learning meditation, making5
decision and self regulation attacking back the rival by using violent.
