THE INFLUENT OF PARENTS’ PARENTING ON ENGLISH LEARNING ACHIEVEMENT FOR CHILDREN OF SDN TANJUNG III PADEMAWU

Parents’ parenting influence to the children development.
Because family especially parents have closest relationship with
children who can shape children’s behavior, personality, habits and
education of children. How parents choose what the parenting style
that suitable for their children also influent to the children’s
development. One of them is children language development
achievement in English learning at school. There are three type of
parenting styles, they are democratic/Authoritative style,
Authoritarian style, and permissive style.
There are four research problems in this research, they are

Pademawu?, Does authoritarian style influent to the young
learner’s (students) English learning achievement at SDN Tanjung
3 Pademawu, Does permissive style influent to the young learner’s
(students) English learning achievement at SDN Tanjung 3
Pademawu, Do parents’ parenting styles (democratic/authoritative
style, authoritarian style, permissive style) simultaneously influent
to the young learner’s (students) English learning achievement at
SDN Tanjung 3 Pademawu?
This research applied quantitative research which the data
are analyzed by using statistical procedure namely the multiple
linear regressions. This research will measure the influence of four
variables. Variable X1 is democratic/authoritative style, X2 is
authoritarian style, X3 is permissive style which had by parents in
parenting their children (students) and variable Y is student’s
English learning achievement. The populations in this study are
students who have age range from 9-10 years old. The researchers
choose to use fourth grade, there are 33 students in this class. To
obtain the data, the researcher used two instrument, they are
questionnaire to obtain data about parents’ parenting styles of
parents use and test to obtain data about English learning
achievement.
Parents’ parenting styles (democratic/authoritative style,
authoritarian style, permissive style) partially and simultaneously
don’t influent young learner’s (students) English learning
achievement at SDN Tanjung 3 Pademawu. In partially are showedv
by regression statistic counting process, that
democratic/authoritative style partially doesn’t influent young
learner’s (students) English learning achievement at SDN Tanjung
3 Pademawu. It is showed by sig. value (0,559) > � (0,05) and
the value of t test (0,590) < t table (2,045), authoritarian style
partially doesn’t influent young learner’s (students) English
learning achievement at SDN Tanjung 3 Pademawu. It is showed
by sig. value (0,781) > � (0,05) and the value of t test (0,281) <
t table (2,045), permissive style partially doesn’t influent young
learner’s (students) English learning achievement at SDN Tanjung
3 Pademawu. It is showed by sig. value (0,814) > � (0,05) and
the value of t test (0,238) < t table (2,045).
Based on the finding above, it suggested for parents to pay
more attention to their children, not just should choose parenting
styles that is suitable for children, but also directs the child to be
motivated to learn English. And for the school can give a solution
for children/students to motivate from within themselves in order to
learn English more vigorously.
