Teacher communication in speaking class is badly needed. The teacher
has very important role for how to speak well. Therefore, the quality of the
teacher’s speaking can be responsible as teacher. One of problem that
happened at MTS Tanwirul Hija Lenteng Sumenep that the communication
faced by English teacher in speaking class are not effective. The problem
here usually makes the students dislike and felt confused to understand about
what the teacher communication. In this research there are three research
focuses, the first is problems of communication faced by English teacher in
speaking class at the seventh grade of MTs Tanwirul Hija Lenteng Sumenep,
factors influenced problems of communication faced by English teacher in
speaking class at the seventh grade of MTs Tanwirul Hija Lenteng Sumenep
and the last solution of problems of communication faced by English teacher
in speaking class at the seventh grade of MTs Tanwirul Hija Lenteng
Sumenep
In this case, the researcher uses qualitative research as approach of
research and descriptive as kind of research. Sources of data is English
teacher and students at the seventh of MTs Tanwirul Hija Lenteng Sumenep.
In collect’s the data, the researcher uses research procedures are observation,
interview and documentation. And then the researcher analyzes with
reduction, display and verification. In addition, to get the validity of data the
researcher uses source triangulation.
The problems of communication faced by English teacher in speaking
class at the seventh grade of MTs Tanwirul Hija Lenteng Sumenep is about
the failure to understand an opponent's perspective. The Teacher often got
problems of communication because of limited vocabularies, pronunciation,
grammar mastery and fluency. Another problem is the teacher is unconfident
to speak, To solve the problems the teacher pay more attention to the
students' understanding that he keeps speak and instruct the students in
English in the level of students language. sometimes, using mix language to
help students to understand the instruction.
The researcher suggest to improve the teacher speaking skill and
confidence in teaching speaking, the school needs to prepare the facilities and
this research can be used as reference fo further research
