THE TEACHERS STRATEGIES IN TEACHING READING COMPREHENSION AT SECOND GRADE STUDENTS OF MTs-SA DARUT TAUHID LEPELLE ROBATAL SAMPANG

English has four skill, they are listening, speaking, writing, and reading. One of
skill is reading. To undestand the contents of the text, the students face many problems.
Therefore, as an English teacher, we have to be able to find and interesting strategy in
teaching English especially in mastering reading comprehension. The teacher should be
able to find and used the rigth strategy which suitable with the students’condition.
Based on the explaination obove, the reseacher interested to find out the teacher strategy
in teaching reading comprehension at second grade students of MTs-SA Darut Tauhid
Lepelle Robatal Sampang.
The are two research focuses in this study. 1) whatstrategies dotheEnglish
teachers usein teaching reading comprehension at the second grade on students of MTsSA LepelleRobatalSampang. 2) how does the English teacher implemented strategies in
teaching reading comprehension at the second grade on students of MTs-SA
LepelleRobatalSampang.
The purpose of this research were, 1) to know the strategiesusedbythe teacher in
teaching reading comprehension at the second grade on students of MTs-SA
LepelleRobatalSampang. 2) to describe the implementation of strategies used by the
teacher in teaching reading comprehension at the second grade on students of MTs-SA
LepelleRobatalSampang.
In this research, the researcher used qualitative approch, while kind of research,
the researcher used descriptive research, it is useed to describing something that is
found in the process of teaching activity. In conducting the research, the researcher
collected data through observation. The the researcher interviewed the English teacher
to get more information. The subject of this research is the English teacher at MTs-SA
Darut Tauhid Lpelle Robatal Sampang.
The result showed that the teacher strategies in teaching reading comprehension
is use third strategy they are grammar translation method(GTM), cooperative learning,9
and jeopardy game with those strategies the students easily understand the text of
reading comprehension.
