Vocabulary is one of the most important aspect of foreign language learning.
Mastering vocabulary is one of language component that determines the quality of
mastering four skill. They are listening, speaking, reading, and writing. In the process of
teaching and learning vocabulary. The teacher should use sholawat rhythm to have the
students feel fun with the learning vocabulary and easy to memorize the vocabulary. The
sholawat rhythm has been use by the teacher in the fifth of MI Al – Ishlah Daleman
Ganding Sumene.
There are three research problem in this research. The first is How does the
teacher use sholawat rhythm as media in teaching learning vocabulary in the fifth grade in
MI Al- Ishlah Daleman Ganding Sumenep. The second is what is the advantage of use
sholawat rhythm as media in teaching learning vocabulary in the fifth grade in MI AlIshlah Daleman Ganding Sumenep. The third is What is the disadvantage of use sholawat
rhythm as media in teaching learning vocabulary the fifth grade in MI Al- Ishlah
Daleman Ganding Sumenep.
This study uses qualitative research in which the type is descriptive research.
The data was taken. The data was taken from the observation in teaching learning
process, interview to the teacher and the students, and documentation to support the data.
The data then was analyzed qualitatively.
The result of this research showed that sholawat rhythm as media were use in
three steps in teaching vocabulary to the fifth grade of MI Al – Ishlah daleman ganding
sumenep in which they are, pre- teaching, whilst teaching, and post teaching. The rhythm
that the teacher uses is sholawat nariyah. This is efficient and very useful to the students
in learning vocabulary. Because it makes the students got motivations, enthusiastic,
interest, fun, and enjoyable in learning vocabulary, besides the students can memorize the
vocabulary easily. And also sholawat rhythm have disadvantages because the teacher do
not get new rhythm in learning vocabulary, and the teacher always lost control when the
studends sing the vocabulary.
It can be drawn a conclusions that the use of sholawat rhythm as media give
advantages for the teacher and students and it is suitable to use in teaching vocabulary.
Besides, it has disadvantages such us the students feel difficult memorize the vocabulary
when the students forgot the lyrics.
