THE TEACHER ROLES IN IMPLEMENTING JIGSAW STRATEGY ON GRAMMAR AT THE SEVENTH GRADE OF MTS IBNUL QURO KARANG PENANG SAMPANG

Teachers when teach in the class will take a certain role to make
the teaching-learning process runs well and the material is delivered to
the students well. However, in teaching-learning process, the teachers
may implement a certain strategy to support their teaching and the
activity of students in the class. One of the strategies the teachers
implement is Jigsaw strategy as one of cooperative learning strategies
which allows the students to work together in a team in order to get
the same goal. Jigsaw strategy is a complex strategy. So, the teachers
must acts some roles in order to make this strategy implemented well
in the class. In this case, the teacher implements Jigsaw strategy on
grammar subject in the class.
Based on that case, there two research focus in this study, they
are: what the teacher roles in implementing Jigsaw Strategy on
Grammar at the Seventh Grade of MTs. Ibnul Quro Karang Penang
Sampang are, and how the teacher roles in implementing Jigsaw
Strategy on Grammar at the Seventh Grade of MTs. Ibnul Quro
Karang Penang Sampang are.
This research uses qualitative approach with descriptive design.
The data is obtained through interview, observation, and
documentation. the data validity in this research is triangulation of
source.
The finding shows that the teacher acts some roles in order to
make the teaching learning process runs well. The teacher acts as
organizer, resource, observer, motivator, and monitor.
Based on the research researcher has done, teacher’s roles in
implementing Jigsaw strategy on grammar at the seventh grade of
MTs. Ibnul Quro Karang Penang Sampang are as organizer, resource,
observer, motivator, and monitor. The way the teacher in acting his
roles were good and made the teaching learning process, especially
when teaching grammar by Jigsaw strategy ran well and got the goal
of learning.
These roles should be taken when the teachers will implement
Jigsaw strategy in the class because it has a complex activity. The
roles must be fit. So, the students do not feel confuse to learn by using
Jigsaw strategy.
