Writing is one of four language skills. It is very important for students when
they learn English language, because it is the basic skill of learning English
language. Writing is also difficult skill for many learners, beacuse the learners
need to pay attention on the grammatical and vocabulary. One thing that capable
to increse the students’ writing skill is creating one program that can help the
students to make writing English well either on grammatical or in his vocabulary.
The program that suitable to improve the students writing skill is applying
building vocabulary program.
There are three research focuses of this research. The first, how does the
teacher implement the building vocabulary program at Salaf Hostel in Ummul
Quro Assuyuty boarding school Plakpak Pegantenan Pamekasan. The second,
what are the advantages of building vocabulary program on students writing skill
in Ummul Quro Assuyuty Boarding School Plakpak Pegantenan Pamekasan. The
last, what are the disadvantages of building vocabulary program on students
writing skill in Ummul Quro Assuyuty Boarding School Plakpak Pegantenan
Pamekasan
In this research used qualitative research. It is descriptive research. To
collect the data the researcher uses some collecting data procedures. Those are
interview, observation and documentation. The data analyses used by researcher
are data reduction, data display and conclusion/verification. To check the validity
of data the researcher used triangulation technique.
The result of this research showed when the implementation of building
vocabulary program, the students interested and enjoyed in learning activity. In
the implementation, the students required to be more active to make sentences. In
this case, the students increased their writing skill by using interesting program.
There are many advantages of implementation this program. This program helped
the students to improve their writing skill, the students has more vocabularies, and
this program also helped the students to make well writing, either on grammatical
nor in their vocabulary. Beside those anvantages, this program also has some
disadvantages, but it is less than the advantages. Like the students lacked of past
tense and past particple, etc.
From the statement above the researcher conclude that the building
vocabulary program is effective to be implemented in teaching writing, because
this program helped the students to practice their writing skill. This program also
had many advantages for students, especially in their writing skill
