THE USE OF GUIDED WRITING STRATEGY IN TEACHING ENGLISH WRITING SKILL AT THE EIGHTH GRADE STUDENTS OF SMPN 3 SAMPANG

Language is a set of rules that used by human as a tool of their communication.
Writing is an important part of language learning. It is essentially a reflective activity that
requires enough time to think about the specific topic, to analyze and classify any background
knowledge. it often happend errors in writing. One of solve this problem is by using strategy
on teaching English writing. The strategy is Guided writing which the teacher used on
teaching writing, from the result of observation in SMPN 3 Sampang. these startegy are
chosen the teacher considers that it will make the students be active and confidence to
English writing.
While, the research problems There are two kinds of research focuses in this study.
The first How does the teacher use of Guided Writing strategy in Teaching English Writing
skill At the eighth Grade students of SMPN 3 Sampang, and the second What are the
Advantages and disvantages of Guided Writing strategy in Teaching English Writing Skill at
the eighth grade students of SMPN 3 Sampang.
This research use qualitative approach and uses discriptive research as kind of
research because this research will focus mainly on Guided writing used by teacher in
teaching writing skill. in collecting data, the researcher uses non participants observation,
types of interview that is used by the researcher is structure interview and documentation.
Based on the result of the researcher’s observation, documentation and interview that
the use of guided writing strategy in teaching English writing skill at the eight grade students
of SMP N 3 Sampang by using three sections: pre-teaching, whilst- teaching and postteaching, and advantages and disadvantages in using Guided writing strategy is the teacher
give useful for the English teacher and the students since it makes teaching learning process
in writing section is effective and happy and improve thier vocabulary. The researcher also
hope after learning by using guided writing the students could improve the students’ writing
skill. And the disadvantages in this strategy the students felt bored because their said that in
this strategy make me wait to write and do by excercise orally
finally, this study is expected to be useful for the reader and future researcher. The
researcher believed that this thesis is far from being perfect. So the researcher will accept
good suggestions and constructive criticism to make this thesis perfect. The reseacher also
hopes that the thesis will be useful and contibute some valuable thing to the reseacher herself
and all readers the general.
