Writing is one of the most important things in teaching learning
process; it can increase the student knowledge. Writing is one of English
basic skills that emphasize students to comprehend some information. The
are many ways that can be implemented in teaching learning process,
especially in teaching learning process of writing skill. One of them is
implementation of Spelling Bee game.
There are three research focuses in this study. The first, how the
teacher implements spelling bee game in teaching writing narrative text in
the eleventh grade of MA. Miftahul Mubtadiin Batukarang camplong, the
second which steps of spelling bee game that make student interested in
narrative text in writing skill at the eleventh grade student of MA Miftahul
Mubtadiin Batukarang and the last what the weaknesses of spelling bee
game in narrative text in writing skill at the eleventh grade of MA Miftahul
Mubtadiin Batukarang.
In this research, the researcher uses qualitative approach by using
descriptive research. Because it describes how the teacher implements
spelling bee game in teaching narrative text in writing skill. To get the data
the researcher uses observation, interview and documentation.
The result of this research found that there were three steps in the
implementation of spelling bee game in teaching writing skill. They are preteaching. Whilst teaching and post teaching. In this game can also help the
students to write the text, It was proved when the student writing narrative
text in the classroom with the group. Based on the result of research above,
the researcher concluded that spelling bee game is well game that the
teacher used it in teaching writing Skill. It can make the students can write
the text especially narrative text.
The special game steps of spelling bee is when the English teacher
said “finish” all of students would raise hand and the English teacher check
the students write and spell it. Based on the result above, it is suggested for
English teacher Preparation before going to teach is really important to
make teaching learning process run well. In teaching English especially
writing skill. The teacher should add another game in teaching learning
process, the teacher more be creative to make students more spirit to study
English and can increase the students writing skill.
