Vocabulary is core component of language proficiency and provides much of the
basic for how well learners speak, listen, read, and write. Without an extensive
vocabulary and strategies for acquiring new vocabulary learners often achieve less than
their potential around may be discourages from making use of language learning
opportunities around them. Media is something which is used to convey massage and
stimulate the mind of thestudents, it can make students more spirit, more attention, and it
can make student’s wish strong so that the media encourage the students in studying.
Teaching vocabulary needs some of media to make students enjoy, interested in studying
such as song. Song is something which is gotten from voice of act or art to intertain such
as singing. Music is sound arranged in a way that is pleasant or exiting to listen.
This is a qualitative research. There are two problems in this research. First,How
does the teacher use song lyric in teaching vocabulary at the third Grade Students of
Madrasah Ibtidaiyah At-Tarbiyah Guluk-Guluk Sumenep?. The second is What are the
deficulties faced by students in learning vocabulary by using song lyric at the third
Grade Students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah At-Tarbiyah Guluk-Guluk Mumenep?Based on
the two problems of study, there are two objectives of study. The first, To know the use
song lyric in teaching vocabulay at the third Grade Students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah AtTarbiyah Guluk-Guluk Mumenep.To know the students’ deficulties in learning
vocabulary by using song lyric at the third Grade Students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah AtTarbiyah Guluk-Guluk Sumenep.
Based on the observation and interview with the teacher, there were some
obstacles occurred in the teaching learning process but the teacher gave solution
directly.The teacher guided the students when the students forgot the vocabulary that
they studied before. The teacher guided them with a song many times. So, the students
can remember step by step the vocabulary and the students could remember that as fast
as posible. The teacher guided the students about the pronunciation of the vocabulary
many times. The teacher repeated many times the same word until the students can
pronounce it well. The teacher gave punishment directly to the students who make noisy
in the classroom. The punishment such the student must sit down alone in the corner of
class in three minutes without friend talking with her/him.
Based on the result of this research above,Teaching vocabulary by using song
lyric at the third Grade Students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah At-Tarbiyah Guluk-Guluk
Mumenep is implemented well. The students participated well in the teaching learning
process. It was proved when the teacher asked the students on the next meeting, the
sudents could answer the questiont well.
