THE USE OF ENGLISH SONG ON STUDENTS' MOTIVATION IN LEARNING LISTENING AT THE EIGHTH GRADE OF MTs MIFTAHUL ANWAR II PAMOROH KADUR PAMEKASAN

Listening is one of necessary skills in learning English. By listening,
people can get informations from the others. When all people especially the
student in the class doing an communication, of course they need to listen that
will be kept and processed in their mind. listening is an ability to identity and
understand what the other people said. It is the way to get information or material
clearly. It is also important in communication in order that the speaker and the
listener can respond each other well. Especially the teacher and the students in the
class.
There are two research focuses of this research. How does the
implementation of English song in learning listening at the eighth grade of MTs
Miftahul Anwar II Pamoroh Kadur Pamekasan and how does the English song
motivate the students in learning listening skill at the eighth grade of MTs
Miftahul Anwar II Pamoroh Kadur Pamekasan. The purpose of this research is to
describe the implementation of English song in learning listening at the eighth
grade of MTs Miftahul Anwar II Pamoroh Kadur Pamekasan.To know the English
song motivate the students in learning listening at the eighth grade of MTs
Miftahul Anwar II Pamoroh Kadur Pamekasan.
The kind of this research is descriptive and the approach is qualitative
research. This research use 3 kinds of instruments, they are observation,
interview, and documentation. And the research setting is in second grade’s class
of MTs Miftahul Anwar II Pamoroh, Kadur, Pamekasan.
The result showed that from the data of interview and data observation,the
researcher conclude that the implementation of song can motivate the students in
learning listening. Because they can study English easily with song which the
teacher use as media, they feel, the song is slow song so they can follow what the
singer say. It can makes them get new vocabularies, more understand about the
asking, giving, declining opinion expression with the song they also can learn
about the structure of the sentence.
Based on the result above, this suggestion to suggest the teachers, the
students, and researcher that had mentioned by the researcher in significance of
study in the chapter 1 exactly. Suggestion for teacher this study will be expected
to be useful for the teacher in applying English song on the teaching learning
process in listening skill, for researcher It can be as reference for the researcher
who will conduct a similar research in English especially in listening skill and for
students his study will be expected to be useful for the students to improve their
listening skill by using English songs.
