Increasing the Students’ Speaking Skill through Design Technique at the Eleventh Grade of MA Darul Akhlak in Toronan Pamekasan.

Speaking is the important skill, in studying a language because it makes the people are easier to express their ideas orally. Speaking is an activity of transferring some messages to other people and it can involve two or more people. The skill of the the eleventh grade students’ of MA Darul Akhlak in Toronan Pamekasan especially in speaking skill is still unsatisfactory. They have to master many vocabularies to express their ideas. So, the English teacher should give the best technique, method, or media in order the teaching learning process runs well and effectively. Therefore, the researcher uses a technique in teaching speaking at the eleventh grade students of MA Darul Akhlak in Toronan Pamekasan namely Design Technique to make the students have equal opportunity in speaking class.
There is one research problem in this study. The first is ‘’Does the use of Design Technique increase the students’ speaking skill at the Eleventh Grade of MA Darul Akhlak in Toronan Pamekasan?’’. In this research, the researcher used CAR as an approach of the research.The data sources are the students of eleventh grade. In collecting the data, the researcher used some procedures those are observation, interview, and documentation. The researcher then analyzed the data by collecting, classifying, analyzing, and drawing a conclusion. Additionally, for getting the validity of the data, the researcher used triangulation of data source and triangulation of method of data collection.
The result of research showed that Design Technique is implemented by the Researcher in speaking class. There are three sections in this activity given by the researcher to the students in teaching learning process namely : pre-teaching, whilst-teaching and post-teaching. Additionally, the students were interested in using design technique on students speaking skill, because they can speak up through their ideas and give opinions to other students in the classroom. In brief, this technique can be used by the researcher in teaching English, especially for speaking class to increase the students speaking skill.
Based on the result above, it is suggested for the English teacher to select a good technique that more suitable with the condition of the students, they should make the situation of the class is more lively in order the students can express their ideas freely, and should give more motivation to the students in every activity in the classroom especially in speaking class. Similarly, the students should pay attention to the English teacher’s motivation and all of the interaction during the activities in order that can encourage their skill that they have learnt, because by motivation they will get spirit in joining learning process to get succes in their future.
