The Study of Error Analysis on Word Choice in Students Writing Descriptive Text at Tenth Grade in Senior High School 1 Pademawu

Learning a foreign language is different from learning the first language, in Senior High School 1 Pademawu many students can write but the students can’t choose word choice appropriately of their writing descriptive text. It happens because they write without regarding to the rules and the way to construct a good writing.
There are two research problem in this research. The first one is what error face in students writing descriptive text on word choice at tenth grade in Senior High School 1 Pademawu. The second one is how the students solve their error on word choice in writing descriptive.
The research design of this study employed a descriptive qualitative design where any information of data which collected is students of IIS(IPS) and MIA(IPA) class at tenth grade in Senior High School 1 Pademawu. This research used qualitative approach because this research focused mainly on the process of knowing an error analysis on word choice in students writing descriptive faced and how the students solve their error.
The result showed that error that made by students in writing descriptive text are error in grammar, spelling, word choice, arrange word become a sentence, but the reseracher focus on error on word choice. When they made error to solve it is go to the warnet is an effective startegies, for the teacher used an attractive media.
Based on the result above, it is suggested for English teacher to aid students to increase their ability in writing aspect. The english teacher always remind their students that they must be careful with word choice, the english must have some strategies to make students happy when they learn english like using game and given clearer explanation about descriptive text such as article, spelling, word choice, punctuation, etc.
