Reading, writing, speaking and listening are four skills that must be acquired by English students in Indonesia. To master these skills the students must comprehend vocabulary.Vocabulary is the first needed to comprehend all of skills in learning English. The studentsseldom learn together with each other that why most of the students do some work in group on learning process. In this case, the teacher implements pair work technique in teaching learning process on his class when he teaches vocabulary.
While observing teaching learning process the researcher knows that in learning vocabulary the students feel easier and understand the teachers’ explanation in front of the class. The students also feel enjoyed when they learn in pairs. They can help each others. So the researcher take the title in her research that is the implementation of pair work technique in learning vocabulary at the sixth grade of MI Bustanul Ulum I Saba Jeruk Palengaan Laok as a tittle in her research, because it is an interesting research where the teacher must implements pair work technique to the sixth grade students.
There are two problems in this research; the firsthow the teacher implements pair work technique in learning vocabulary for elementary studentsat The Sixth Grade of MI Bustanul Ulum I Saba Jeruk Palengaan Laok. The second, how the students respond about pair work technique in learning vocabulary at The Sixth Grade of MI Bustanul Ulum I Saba Jeruk Palengaan Laok.
The researcher used descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were the students grade and the teacher at the sixth grade of MI Bustanul Ulum I Saba Jeruk Palengaan Laok. Meanwhile, the data is collected from theobservation, interview and documentation. To analyze the data, the researcher used data reduction, data display and verification. Moreover, to check the validity of the data, the researcher used two triangulation those are; triangulation of data source and member checking.
As the result, the researcher concluded that in learning vocabulary to the students at the sixth grade the teacher should implements pair work technique to help the students easy in memorizing vocabulary and to prove whether the students understand the material or not.
