Teaching vocabulary is one of the important elements in language that should be understood by the learners because it support the learning of the language skills development in order to master the target language. It a core component of language proficiency and provides much of the basis for how well learners speak, isten, read and write. As we know that to remember vocabulary is very difficult, so Index card match is one of strategy that make the learners easier to remember the vocabulary and make the class more active.
There are three problems in this research. The first is one is How does the teacher use Index Card Match Strategy in teaching Vocabulary at the seventh grade of SMP Islam Nurul Jadid Panglegur. The second one is What is the advantage of the use Index Card Match Strategy in teaching Vocabulary at the seventh grade of SMP Islam Nurul Jadid Panglegur. The third one is What is the weakness of the use Index Card Match Strategy in teaching Vocabulary at the seventh grade of SMP Islam Nurul Jadid Panglegur.
In this study, the objective are: 1)To describes how teacher use Index Card Match Strategy in teaching Vocabulary at the seventh grade of SMP Islam Nurul Jadid Panglegur. 2)To know the advantages of the use Index Card Match Strategy in teaching Vocabulary at the seventh grade of SMP Islam Nurul Jadid Panglegur. 3)To know the weakness of the use Index Card Match Strategy in teaching Vocabulary at the seventh grade of SMP Islam Nurul Jadid Panglegur.
In this research, the researcher used Qualitative approach, while the research method applied in this study is descriptive research. The qualitative approach here is to dicribe the dat in the form of word. The data is taken from Index card match strategy inplemeted. In this study, the instrument used observation, interview and documentation the researcher use unstructre interview non participant observation and documentation to get the data.
The result of this research shows that teaching vocabulary by using Index crad match strategy at the seventh grade of SMP Islam Nurul Jadid Panglegur. The teacher give some card to students that thre is the meaning and vocabulary then ask them to look for the couple of cards (vocabulary and meaning) and ask then become one group then they should presentation their work in front of class. But this strategy make the class crowded and spend mucth time in one activity. Beside that the students more active in learning process and also make them easier to memorize the vocabulary.
