In learning English,there are four language skills. They are listening, reading, speaking, and writing. The lecturer uses sharing idea technique to teach speaking at the second semester of English Teaching Learning Program of STAIN Pamekasan.
There are two research focuses in this study. The first, How is the implementation of sharing idea technique on students’ speaking skill at the second semester of English Teaching Learning Program of STAIN Pamekasan.The second,How are the students’ response in implementation of sharing idea technique on students’ speaking skill at the second semester of English Teaching Learning Program of STAIN Pamekasan.
In this research, the researcher uses qualitative approach. While kind of research, the researcher uses descriptive research, because it is intended to describe how the lecturer implements sharing idea technique on students’ speaking skill in teaching learning process.
Based on the observation, the result of this research found that there were three steps in the implementation of sharing idea technique on students’ speaking skill at the second semester of English Teaching Learning Program of STAIN Pamekasan. They are pre-teaching, whilst-teaching, and post-teaching. The lecturer was very happy uses sharing idea technique to teaching speaking because the lecturer can know about competence of students when they speaking English and also this technique help the lecturer directly can interaction with the all students in the class. While the solution, the lecturer motivated the students when the students had low motivation to speak English and less vocabulary.
Besides, the positiveresponses of the students at the second semester of English Teaching Learning Program of STAIN Pamekasan, the students think that sharing idea is good technique because it can help the students to speak English.And also the students are more easy to speak when the lecturer implemented of sharing idea technique because the students can share idea and theirknowledge to other students in teaching learning process in the class.
Based on the result of research above, Sharing idea technique is effective technique that the lecturer used in teaching speaking. The lecturer give motivation for students to speak English in teaching learning process in the class.
