The Implementation of “Tour and Tell” Game in Teaching Speaking Skill at The Eight Grade Students of MTsN Sumber Bungur Pamekasan

Speaking is an important thing for the student because it is one of the abilities to carry out the conversation on the language. Through speaking, they can express their mind, ideas, and thought freely and spontaneously. Being a good speaker need much practices in order to develop speaking skill and we can practice this skill in many places such as in the school. Therefore, the teacher implements game to motivate students in speaking class. Tour and tell game is implemented in teaching speaking at the Eight Grade Students of MTsN Sumber Bungur Pamekasan.
There are three research problems in this study. The first is how the English teacher implements tour and tell game in teaching speaking skill at the Eight Grade Students of MTsN Sumber Bungur. The second is what are the advantages of tour and tell game in learning speaking skill at the Eight Grade Students of MTsN Sumber Bungur. And the third is what are the weaknesses of tour and tell game in learning speaking skill at the Eight Grade Students of MTsN Sumber Bungur.
In this research, the researcher uses qualitative as the approach of the research and kind of the research is descriptive. The data sources are the English teacher of eight grade and the students of this class. In collecting the data, the researcher uses some procedures those are observation, interview, and documentation. The researcher than analyzes the data by reduction, display, and verification. Additionally, for getting the validity of the data, the researcher used method triangulation.
The result of research shows tour and tell game is implemented for speaking class for two meetings. Those two meetings are successfull because the teacher implemented the game well by joining some procedures based on the lesson plan that the English teacher had and the procedures of the game. The the students are eanthusiast in the processs of the game. Besides this game has some advantages namely, it motivates students to express their idea easily, students are confidence in speaking class, exploring idea, and have a better knowledge and new experience by discussion. In the other hand, this game provides weaknesses such as it has limited time, noisy situation, lost of confidance, and need many vocabularies.
Based on the result above, it is suggested for the English teacher to be selective in implementing the game and to have a good preparation in order it can run well. It is also suggested for the students to practice the language through speaking in order to have a good speaking and they should motivate themselves in learning because a good learning and practice will get a good skill.
