The Influence of Rally Robin Strategy on Students’ Vocabulary of The Tenth Grade of SMKN 3 Pamekasan

Vocabulary can be defined as the words of language that including of single item or single word. In teaching vocabulary English teacher must be find more strategies. There are many strategies that can do by teacher in teaching vocabulary, for example Rally Robin strategy. Rally Robin strategy is important in teaching learning proses because it can build students’ togetherness and can interest students to study vocabulary, especially about synonym and antonym.
There are two problems of study in this research. The first research problem is whether do the students of the tenth grade of SMKN 3 Pamekasan taught using Rally Robin strategy have better vocabulary knowledge (synonym and antonym) than those who are not, and the second research problem is whether is there any significant influence of teacher using Rally Robin strategy on students’ vocabulary (synonym and antonym) at the tenth grade of SMKN 3 Pamekasan.
This study is to know the students of the tenth grade of SMKN 3 Pamekasan taught using Rally Robin strategy have better vocabulary knowledge (synonym and antonym) than those they are not and To measure how far influence of teacher using Rally Robin strategy on students’ vocabulary (synonym and antonym) at the tenth grade of SMKN 3 Pamekasan. There are two variables in this research, they are variable X is Rally Robin strategy and variable Y is students’ vocabulary. This research uses quantitative research. Research design of this research is experimental research design, namely pre experimental design.
The population in this research is the tenth grade of SMKN 3 Pamekasan. The populations are about 300 students. The researcher takes the sample in this research is one class of the tenth grade of SMKN 3 Pamekasan that consist about 35 students. Data collection which are used are test (pre-test post-test) and documentation. The statistical formula which used is t-test formula (pre-test and post-test one group sample).
The result of t-test is 12, 9861. The value of t table in significant 5 % with df 35 is 2, 03. When the researcher matched the value of t obtained (to) with t table df 35 with significant level 5 % is 12, 9861 > 2, 03. The value of t obtained (to) is higher than t table (tt) in significant level 5 % . From the result above, it means that alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. On the other hand, shows that the using of Rally Robin strategy gives effect to the students’ vocabulary of the tenth grade of SMKN 3 Pamekasan.
