The Effect of Using Dialogue Technique on Students’Speaking Skill at The Tenth Grade of SMKN I Pakong Pamekasan

Thete are two problems in thi research. The first one is there any effect of using dialogue technique on students’ speaking skill at the tenth grade of SMKN I PakongPamekasan. The second one is how significance is the effect of the dialgue technique on students’ speaking skill at the tenth gade of SMKN I Pakong Pamekasan.
This research is to investigate the effect of using dialogue technique on students’ speaking skill at the tenth grade of SMKN I Pakong Pamekasan and to measure how significance the dialogue technique effect on students’ speaking skill at the tenth grade of SMKN I Pakong Pamekasan.
This research used quantitative approach, and the kind of research which the researcher used is pre-experimental research with one group pretest-posttest design. The researcher used clustered sampling in determine the sample of research. It was used because the population is divided into several department and several classes. So, the researcher took TKJ/A class as the sample of research.
The instruments which were used in conducting the research are test and documentation. Data analysis technique that the researcher used was statistical analysis. The statistical formula which was used is t-test which suitable with the research design, namely one group pretest-posttest design.
The result showed that there is an effect of using dialogue technique on students’ speaking skill at the tenth grade of SMKN I Pakong Pamekasan. It was proven from the value of t0 (12,9) is higher than tt (2,81). It also proved that the significant effect of using dialogue technique on students’ speaking skill is accepted because the value of t0 is higher than the value of tt in significant level 0f 1%.
Finally, based on the finding, it is suggested that the English teacher expected to apply the dialogue technique in teaching speaking. So, the students will be more active in the classroom.
