Reading is kind of skill that the purpose is to know the purpose of text and comprehend in the meaning of text. Specifically, in Junior High School 4 Pamekasan there are many students VIII Grade who is said that English lesson is difficult lessonl. and make them be bored and not interesting. So, the teacher feel difficult to deliver the English material to students.
There are two research focus in this study exactly. Above all they are, how does the English teacher implements Numbered Head Together model of Recount text, and what kind of obstacle that faced in implementing Numbered Head Together model.
In this research, the researcher uses qualitative approach and the kind of research is descriptive. The data got from the result of interview, observation, and also documentation. The informants are the English teacher and students of VIII Grade of Junior High School 4 Pamekasan. The validity of data is used triangulation and member checking.
The result showed that the implementation of Numbered Head Together Model of Recount text is success and effective. It shows by the reponds of students in teaching learning process. In this case, the teacher just as facilitator and gives instruction based on the steps of learning model. By implementing Numbered Head Together Model, students more be active, free to give their opinion, understand of the material, and be friendly and get social relationship of each other. Besides, the obstacle that faced by English teacher is noisy situation. But, in this case, the teacher can make suitable condition. So, students can follow the teaching learning process successfully.
Based on the result above, it suggests for English teacher to prepare various learning model in order to make students become interesting in English lesson. Then, it makes students to become receive the material easily. It suggests for the students of VIII Grade of Junior High School 4 Pamekasan to ask the problems that do not understand the material being taught and always doing discussions to find out solution of each problem in English lesson.
