Speaking is one skill in language learning that is very important to teach in the classroom because it can be used to achieve the ability to speak about our feelings, ideas, opinion, and also to express anything which comes into our mind orally.
This study is to investigate whether the students taught using what can you remember game have higher speaking achievement and to measure how significance what can you remember game effect to students’ speaking achievement at the tenth grade of MA. DarutThalibinPontehGalisPamekasan.
This study is quantitative research and the design that use in this study is pre experimental design. There are two variables in this study; the independent variable is what can you remember game and the dependent variable is students’ speaking achievement. The population of this study is all the tenth grade students of MA.DarutThalibinPontehGalisPamekasan. While, research instruments which are used are test and documentation. The obtained data from test was analyzed by using t-test formula.
The result showed that the students taught usingwhat can you remember game have higher speaking achievement at the tenth grade of MA.DarutThalibinPontehGalisPamekasan and the effect is statistically significant. It prove with t-value is higher than t-table either in 5% or 1% (5% = 2,09< 10,127) or (1% = 2,84 < 10,127). So from the result above, it can be concluded that Ha (Alternative Hypothesis) is accepted and the Ho (Null Hypothesis) is rejected. Using what can you remember game can help the teacher in teaching speaking to make the students more active and speak up in the classroom because in this game every member of group should answer the teacher’s question based on the picture given by the teacher.
Based on the result above, it is suggested for English teacher to understand the students’ condition in the classroom, so the English teacher can solve the students’ difficulties especially in speaking ability. The English teacher should have appropriate activity that is suitable with the material and students’ ability.
