The Implementation of Stand Up and Share Technique on Students’ Speaking Skill in the Eighth Grade of SMP Maarif 2 Pamekasan

Nowadays, studying English is very important for people. In learning English, there are four language skills. They are listening, reading, speaking, and writing. The teacher in SMP Maarif 2 Pamekasan uses stand up and share technique to teach speaking at eighth grade.
There are three research focuses in this study. The first, how does the teacher implement stand up and share technique on students’ speaking skill in the eighth grade of SMP Maarif 2 Pamekasan. The second, what are the obstacles faced by the teacher in implementing stand up and share technique on students’ speaking skill in the eighth grade of SMP Maarif 2 Pamekasan. The third, how does the teacher overcome the obstacles faced by the teacher in implementing stand up and share technique on students’ speaking skill in the eighth grade of SMP Maarif 2 Pamekasan.
In this research, the researcher uses qualitative approach. While kind of research, the researcher uses descriptive research. Because It is intended to describe how the teacher implements stand and share technique on students’ speaking skill in teaching learning process.
The result of this research found that there were three steps in the implementation of Stand Up and Share technique on students’ speaking skill in the eighth grade of SMP Maarif 2 Pamekasan. They are pre-teaching, whilst-teaching, and post-teaching. Some obstacles faced by the teacher based on the obstacles faced the students were teacher got difficulty to make the students understand the explanation if the teacher used unfamiliar vocabulary in English. While the solution, teacher motivated the students when the students had low motivation to speak English and less vocabulary.
Based on the result of research above, Stand Up and Share technique is effective technique that the teacher used in teaching speaking. The teacher also can give solution of obstacles that the teacher faced.
