In learning English language students should comprehend four skills, they are : speaking, listening, reading, and writing. To support those skills, the students have to master the grammar which become the basic to study language. Grammar is one of the English micro skill that every learner needs to achieve in acquiring it. Grammar is very important to teach in the classroom because it can be used to achieve the ability to write about our feeling, ideas, opinion, and also to express anything which is come into our mind.
The focuses of this study are on how does the teacher use ''Board Racing'' game in teaching English grammar of the natural eleventh 1 (XI IPA 1) grade at SMAN 1 Galis Pamekasan? Which parts of ''Board Racing'' game can facilitate the students to learn English grammar of the natural eleventh 1 (XI IPA 1) grade at SMAN 1 Galis Pamekasan? While the objectives of this study are to describe how the teacher use ''Board Racing'' game in teaching English grammar and to find out the parts of ''Board Racing'' game which can facilitate the students to learn English grammar of the natural eleventh 1 (XI IPA 1) grade at SMAN 1 Galis Pamekasan.
This research uses qualitative approach and uses descriptive research as kind of research. The data source is taken from observation, interview, and documentation, and the researcher thinks that is represent enough. To collect the data, the researcher uses observation checklist in teaching learning process using ''Board Racing'' game.
The result of this study, this game ''Board Racing'' game is useful for the English teacher and the students since it makes teaching learning process in grammar section is effective. There are two meetings in the use of ''Board Racing'' game in teaching English grammar of the natural eleventh 1 (XI IPA 1) grade at SMAN 1 Galis Pamekasan. This game motivates students to cooperate with their group, makes the situation of the class more vivid, active or lively, etc. I also hoped after learning by this game will improve the students’ grammar commpetence. Finally, this study is expected to be useful for the reader and the further researcher.
