Language is an integral part of human behavior. Language is a device for communicating ideas. Through communication, people can express their idea or opinion towards someone. The same massage may be expressed very differently to different people. People use language variation in different situations and for different purposes too, the variation of a language can be seen from the form of the language, vocabulary, grammar and style etc. Style talks about a very distinctive way how a person uses his or her own language consistently to express his or her ideas, in order to be different from others. The researcher is interested in investing of Mario Teguh’s speech style in delivered information to the audience.
The research focus of this research are; 1) What sentence types are used in Mario Teguh’s speech?, 2) What communicative functions are used in Mario Teguh’s speech?, while the purposes of the study are; 1) To describe the sentence types that used in Mario Teguh’s speech, 2) To describe which sentence types and communicative functions are used for each communicative function in Mario Teguh’s speech.
The researcher used Qualitative Approach while the research method applied because it is to find out the best answer in the study of sentence types and communicative functions, and used descriptive Research to obtain information concerning the current status of phenomena of Mario Teguh’s speech in Golden Ways shown.
The result of this study that in Mario Teguh Golden Ways Shown, Mario Teguh’s speech are used sentence type such as; declarative sentence, interrogative sentence, imperative sentence, and exclamative sentence, with the function (communictive functions) are make a statement, asking question, directing others and expressing attitude.
