Analysis of Teaching Strategies Used in Teaching Children with Dyslexia on English Language Disorders in Taare Zameen Par Movie

The Taare Zameen Par movie is a movie that tells about how a teacher
uses several kind of teaching strategies that can help teach children with
dyslexia to be successful. As for the research problems regarding, what are the
teaching strategies used in teaching children with dyslexia in Taare Zameen
Par movie? And how does the teacher in Taare Zameen Par movie use
teaching strategies in teaching children with dyslexia? The research objective
of this research is to describe the teaching strategies used in teaching children
with dyslexia in Taare Zameen Par movie and to know how does the teacher
in Taare Zameen Par movie use teaching strategies in teaching children with
dyslexia.
This research is qualitative research, the kind of research in this research is
library research. The primary source used is “Taare Zameen Par” movie to
find out the data needed. While the secondary source, that refers to book,
journals, internet, that were relevant to the teaching methods children with
dyslexia. In collecting data, researcher used observation and documentation
with data analysis as content analysis in Taare Zameen Par movie. For
checking data used source triangulation and techinique triangulation to obtain
data.
The results of this research show that there are 10 teaching strategies in
teaching children dyslexia, include: reflecting the writing on the blackboard in
the mirror, drawing the number 7 with the nose upturned, forming letters with
plasticine, draw letters using colorful paints, write the number 8 on the strimin
board, write letters using a container filled with sand, writing letters in
Ishaan's hand, write down words Hate, Tape, and Mate that have the same
pattern, listening audio text and reading story book. As for the strategies used
by teacher Nikumbh in teaching the dyslexic children namely Ishaan. These
methods include: using reading book, using audio text, using media to draw
letters and the last using strimin board.
