The Use of Spinner Wheel Games in Teaching Vocabulary in Class 3 MI Darul Iman Mapper Proppo

Spinner wheel is an educational game that can be used as a learning
medium by teachers for their students, but many teachers do not understand that
this game is very important and also define that spinner wheel is a circular object
or circle that can produce a movement around or change direction.
Vocabulary are essentials for developing English language skills. Learning
vocabulary is crucial for listening, speaking, reading, and writing comprehension.
Teachers play a crucial role in making the learning process effective and
engaging. They can use various methods and media to enhance students' interest
and learning outcomes.
Related to this, the researcher is interested in conducting research on the
use of the spinner wheel game, because this topic is very interesting in teaching
vocabulary in the third grade of MI Darul Iman Mapper Proppo. This study aims
to describe how the use of the spinner wheel game in vocabulary learning at MI
Darul Iman Mapper Proppo, as well as to find out the advantages and
disadvantages of using this media.
This research is a qualitative study using a descriptive approach. The data
collection process was carried out using observation from 07 June-14 June 2023,
interviews with english teacher an also the students there and the last
documentation methods. Then the data was processed and tested for validity using
source triangulation techniques. The data was then analyzed qualitatively through
three stages, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing.
The results showed that the English teacher only used five out of six
spinner wheel steps to teach vocabulary that is showed the media, explain how to
use this media, ask students to pay attention, ask students to spin the wheel, ask
students to matches with thw picture. While the advantage of the spinner wheel
game in vocabulary learning, namely supporting and improving the learning
process, easy to do and not dangerous, and can playing while learning. The
disadvantage of using this game is that some students are shy because they feel
afraid of being wrong, and this media is not innovative enough because the use of
Spinner Wheel in teaching vocabulary is still manually rotated by hand.
The implication of this research is students can try to learn english by
using the spinner wheel game and can make the readers more enthusiastic about
using the sipinner wheel game.
