Analysis of Project Based Learning Model Used by Teacher in Teaching English as Foreign Language at 8th Grade of SMPN 1 Rubaru in 2022/2023 Academic Year

This study aims to describe the analysis of the use of project based
learning used by teacher in teaching English as a foreign language in 8th grade
of SMP Negeri 1 Rubaru. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1
Rubaru. The subjects of this study were English teacher who taught in 8th grade
and students of grade 8 SMP Negeri 1 Rubaru.
There are two main problems in this research. First, the researcher
wants to know about the implementation of PjBL used by teacher in teaching
English in grade 8 SMPN 1 Rubaru, and second, the researcher wants to know
about the advantages and disadvantages of using PjBL. The approach used in
this study is a qualitative approach. This type of research is descriptive. Data
obtained from observation, interviews, and documentation. The source of this
research is the 8th grade students of SMPN 1 Rubaru. In checking the validity
of the data, researchers also used technical triangulation.
The data obtained from this study are in the form of results of
observations, and results of interviews gotten from the teacher about the
process of implementing learning with the project based learning model,
documentation results and results of student projects. The results of this study
indicate that the implementation of the project-based learning model
specifically for materials compiles dialogues related with expressing or giving
obligations, prohibitions and suggestions in 8th grade of SMP Negeri 1 Rubaru.
Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the
implementation of the project based learning learning model in 8th grade of
SMP Negeri 1 Rubaru has been carried out according to the project based
learning learning steps and learning implementation plans (RPP) that have
been designed by the teacher. Not only that, in its implementation there are
also some disadvantages and advantages of using Project based Learning in
grade 8 of SMP Negeri 1 Rubaru, which have proven these weaknesses and
strengths from the results of interviews with teachers and students of grade 8
SMP Negeri 1 Rubaru
