SGT is a learning strategy or program used by tutors to train students'
confidence in developing the potential and quality of student learning and train
students' mentality with several events that have been packaged in the SGT program.
These include speech, storytelling, stand-up comedy, role play drama, singing and etc.
which are the benefits of SGT “Smile Got Talent” to train students' skills in speaking
English well and fluently, train students' pronunciation and improve vocabulary and
develop students' listening.
This research uses field research with a qualitative approach. The object of this
research is a member of SHES. Announcement of data taken from interviews,
observations, documentation. Where interviews are conducted directly to the founder
of SHES, Tutors and Members. And observations were made directly because the
research had studied in that place.
The results of this study indicate that the use of SGT for students who are
confident in learning English is that SGT has a positive impact on improving the quality
of student learning. With SGT students will be more confident in their talents and
potential, because confidence is really needed by students to be able to maximize their
talents. Self Confidence is a belief in oneself for the talents possessed in him. Selfconfidence can strengthen our motivation in achieving a success, because the greater
the confidence in ourselves, the stronger the determination to get everything we want.
SGT is a learning strategy that has a good impact on improving the quality of student
learning including; 1. Develop the ability and creativity of members based on their
potential, talents, and interests, 2. Develop a sense of social responsibility for members,
3. Create a relaxed, encouraging, and fun atmosphere for members that support the
development process and, 4. To develop members' readiness when facing challenges.
Reality. Therefore, SGT is a program that can motivate students in learning English
and increase students confidence in learning English. Develop the potential and talents
possessed and mentally train students to be able to appear in public and be confidence
