Teacher Strategy in Enriching the Vocabulary Mastery by Using Comic Strips as a Media

In the teaching and learning process the teacher must be creative in
choosing methods so that students are happy, active and do not feel bored in
class, because students have different abilities. The teacher must choose a method
that suits the conditions of the students in the class to make students happy and
improve the learning process, especially in learning vocabulary. Vocabulary here
is important for students in learning English so that they can master the four skills
in English.
There are two research focuses in this research, the first is how does the
teacher strategy to use the comic strips as a media to enrich vocabulary mastery at
9
th grade of SMP Nurul Hikmah Tlanakan Pamekasan, the second what are
advantages and disadvantages of the comic strips as a media to enrich vocabulary
mastery.
This research uses qualitative research, researcher collect data from
observations, interview and documentation. From the data collected, reserachers
can find out the teacher strategy to use the comic strips as a media to enrich
vocabulary mastery at 9th grade of SMP Nurul Hikmah Tlanakan Pamekasan.
Based on the result of the research above, it can be concluded that the
process of teaching vocabulary using comic strips media runs smoothly and this is
a good method for at 9thgrade in the process of learning English vocabulary. In
addition, teaching should improve the application of this method to make students
better in mastering English vocabulary. Thus, it is suggested to other researchers
who want to conduct research related to this thesis, this thesis can be used as a
reference as a study achievement. This thesis can also be used as a reference for
those of you who want to teach English, especially in teaching vocabulary
