An Analysis Of Islamic Moral Value Of Omar & Hana Animation Based On Al-Ghazali’s Perspective

Omar & Hana’s animation is an animation that convey Islamic messege to
children. This animation release with three languages namely Malaysian, English
and Arabic. Apart from television, this animation can also be watched trough the
YouTube application as well as trough the Omar & Hana applications which can
be downloaded via Google Play and the Apple Store. This animation features
characters with cute pictures and bright colors, thereby increasing children’s
interest in watching them. On the other hand, this animation can provide
alternative education for children in a fun way. So that, in addition to being
entertained, they can also absorb positive values in the form of education and
Islamic values. As well as Islamic moral values that need to be instilled in
children from an early age, so that good behavior and character reflected in them
have positive aura and in accordance with Islamic teachings. Because a character
can be a reflection of a person’s personality whether it’s good or bad. Therefore,
this animation can be an alternative to foster the Islamic spirit of children from an
early age.
Dealing with Islamic moral values, the researcher analyses “Omar &
Hana” animation using Imam Al-Ghazali’s perspective. In his book “Ihya’
Ulumuddin” Imam Al-Ghazali divides Islamic moral values into 2 kinds. Namely
good morals and bad morals. In this research, researchers analyzed the good
morals found in Omar & Hana animation and how are the Islamic moral value
found in this animation.
The researcher uses qualitative approach with content analysis as its kind
of research. The primary source used is “Omar & Hana” animation to find out the
data needed. While the secondary source, it refers to books and journals that deals
with Omar & Hana animation. To collect the data, the researcher uses observation
and documentation. Familiarizing and organizing, coding and reducing, as well as
interpreting and representing are used to analyse the data.
The results of the research show that from the 8 episodes researched there
are Islamic moral values based on Al-Ghazali’s perspective in the form of;
mahabbah, patient, tawakkal, gratitude, ridla, honest, raja’ and zuhud. As for
Islamic moral values according to Al-Ghazali’s perspective are found through the
actions, beliefs, desires and words of the characters in this animation.
