The Strategy to Overcome Students’ Boredom toward English Lesson in the New Normal Era of 12th Grade SMA Toha Praktika Giligenting

Boredom is feeling or condition that students have when they do
something repeatedly. There are many kinds of boredom that the students feel. In
learning teaching get bored is a natural thing, the same with this case in learning
teaching English lesson. The teacher to overcome students’ boredom must have
strategies. The strategy are used by the teacher are using lectured method,
question and answer method, and give some game.
Researcher decided two focuses research; what kinds of boredom
condtions are identified in English lesson and what strategy are used by the
teacher to overcome students’ boredom toward English lesson in the new normal
era of 12th grade SMA Toha Praktika Giligenting. The purpose of this research is
to identify kinds of boredom conditions are identified in English lesson and to
analyze strategies are used by the teacher to overcome students’ boredom toward
English lesson in the new normal era of 12th grade SMA Toha Praktika
Giligenting.
In this research, the researcher used qualitative as approach of this
research and descriptive as kind of the research. The researcher uses three
instruments in collecting data; observation, interview, and documentation. For
analyzing the data, the researcher uses data reduction, data display, and data
verification. Then the researcher uses triangulation of method in checking the data
validty.
The reset of this study are the students of 12th grade SMA Toha Praktika
Giligenting get bored in learning English lesson. They different experience kinds
of boredom, namely normal boredom and positive boredom. The English teacher
in 12th grade of SMA Toha Praktika Giligenting teach English lesson at the new
normal era, uses the lectured method, question and answer method and give some
game.
The significance of this research is to help the readers will get references.
And for IAIN Madura to the next researcher for become a reference. And for the
teacher will help the teacher in overcome boredom in the new normal era.
