The Effect of Free Fire Game to the Students’ Vocabulary Mastery at the Eleventh Grade of MA Hidayatut-Thalibin at Rembang Pragaan Daya Sumenep

Vocabulary is important tool in communication, so it is important for the
teacher to be creative and innovative in teaching vocabulary. Vocabulary is
important to support mastery of language skill and it is one of language elements
considered necessary for language mastery. And to make the students’ vocabulary
is better; the English teacher used “Free Fire Game”. It is suggested for English
teacher to understand the students’ condition in the classroom. So, the English
teacher can solve the students’ difficulty especially in vocabulary.In this research,
there are two problems. The first is whether the students who are taught by free
fire game have higher achievement than before being taught by free fire game on
their vocabulary mastery at the eleventh grade of MA Hidayatut-Thalibin at
Rembang Pragaan daya Sumenep Madura.The second is how the significant effect
of free fire game to the students’ vocabulary mastery at the eleventh grade of MA
Hidayatut-Thalibin at Rembang Pragaan Daya Sumenep Madura.
In this research, the researcher use quantitative approach and the design is
pre-experimental design. There are two variables in this research; independent
variable is free fire game and dependent variable is students’ vocabulary mastery.
The obtained data from the test was analyzed by using t-test formula.
The result showed that the students taught using free fire game have higher
achievement to the students’ vocabulary at MA Hidayatut-Thalibin, and the effect
is statistically significant. It can prove that t-value is higher than t-table either on
the level of significance 5% (2, 20184369 > 2,16) or on the level of significance
1% (2, 20184369 > 3,01). So, it can be concluded that Ha (hypothesis alternative)
is accepted and Ho (null hypothesis) is rejected.
