The Use of Cognitive Learning on Vocabulary Mastery at 8th Grade of MTSN 1 Pamekasan

Cognitive learning is as a style that the most important and suitable to
increase the vocabulary through understanding the meaning of the vocabulary.
The objectives of this research are to describe how the teacher implement
the cognitive learning on vocabulary mastery at 8th grade of MTSN 1
Pamekasan and to find out the strengthness and weaknessess of cognitive
learning on vocabulary mastery at 8th grade of MTSN 1 Pamekasan. This
research used qualitative research with kinds of descriptive. Data source gotten
by observation, interview, and documentation.
The result of this research showed that the teacher began to explain the
topic, the teacher gave some vocabulary to memorize because it could increased
of the vocabulary mastery, the teacher wrote ten vocabulary on the white board,
the teacher asked the students to write ten vocabulary in a small notebook for
five minutes, the teacher read the vocabulary one by one and asked the students
for her follow, While the teacher gave the way in used spelling and pronunciation
in English.
The strengthness of this style shows that the teacher applied memorizing
on vocabulary because it could determine of the use cognitive learning that has
become a purpose to make the students are able to master the vocabulary by
using this style in evary English subjects, so that the students more interested in
learning the topic that would be discussed. The weakness of the teaching and
learning process by using cognitive learning was the teacher is faster when the
teacher gave the way to read the vocabulary in English because it could make
the students are not clear for the students to hear it, so it could make the students
confused to read the vocabulary because the students are not diligent to bring
the dictionary.
