THE USE OF JIGSAW TO TEACH READING NARRATIVE TEXT FOR EIGHT GRADE MTS MIFTAHUL ULUM LARANGAN BADUNG PALENGAAN PAMEKASAN

Reading is an important skill which has an important contribution to the
succes of learning language.Almost every student have different skill such as in
Reading skill, sometimes the student need a long time to comprehence in reading
and understanding the meaning. Technique and method of teacher’s ways in
teaching-learning process is very important for student and the situations of
classroom because it is influence in student understanding the lesson. So, the
teacher using Jigsaw in teaching learning process. The teacher believe that method
very suitable for making student more understand and active in teaching and
learning activities and it is provides the students to be enjoyable and interest to
read the text.
The objective of this research are how the teacher use of Jigsaw to teach
reading narrative text, How the advantages of using Jigsaw to teach reading
narrative text, And how the disadvantages of using Jigsaw to teach reading
narrative text in the eight grade at MTs Miftahul Ulum Larangan Badung
Palengaan Pamekasan.
In this research there are scope and limitation. Scope in this study is the
use of Jigsaw to teach reading narrative text and the limitation in the eight grade
of MTs Miftahul Ulum Larangan Badung Palengaan Pamekasan. This study is
design by descriptive qualitative and the researcher collect the data from the
observation, interview, and documentation.
The result of this study show that how Jigsaw technique used in teaching
reading narrative text for eight grade MTs Miftahul Ulum Larangan Badung. It
also shows that students can collaborate and integrate their knowledge and
understanding from various sources and expert, made the students more active in
teaching learning process. In addition, they can sharing and interact with each
other in different views, knowledge which is in order to development of their
social sense. can help the teacher to teach more effective and made the learning
process more interesting and to increase students’s motivation in reading skill.
The result of this study also indicate the effectiveness of using Jigsaw techniques
in achieving learning targets with narrative text material.
Based on the research of study above, it is suggested for teacher The
teacher should improve the quallity of learning method in English subject,
especially in technique of process learning and the teacher should give more
variation in teaching English. So, the students will be more interested in learning
English. And also for the other research can continoue the research into different
skills or technique using different research design. Hopefully, this study gave new
knowledge for all, espicially in educational context.
