LECTURER’S STRATEGY IN TEACHING LESSON PLANNING IN CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT AND SYLLABUS DESIGN SUBJECT AT FIFTH SEMESTER OF TBI IN IAIN MADURA

As candidate of teacher, the student especially English Department must
know to make lesson plan and know how to arrange it. They learn about it in
curriculum development and syllabus design (CDSD) subject. For this reason,
it is necessary the lecturer must be creative create some strategies in order to
the student interest and the lesson which have explained can be understood
easily. The researcher formulate research questions as the followings: 1.What
is the strategy that used by the lecturer in teaching lesson planning?, 2. How
the lecturer implements the strategy in teaching lesson planning?, 3.How does
the student’s respond on the lecturer’s strategy in teaching lesson planning
that use by the lecturer?
The researcher employs descriptive qualitative research to investigate the
strategy and the students' response used by the lecturer in teaching arranging
Lesson Plan of the fifth semester students of TBI IAIN Madura. The researcher
is the key instrument to collect the data as non- participant. The data are
collected by non participant observation, partially structured interview and
documentation. Then, analyzed by data condensation, data display and
drawing and verifiying conclusion. To validate the data, the researcher use
triangulation data source
The Strategy Used by the Lecturer in Teaching Lesson Planning at Fifth
Semester of TBI IAIN Madura is presentation using LCD projector. In
presenting the material of Lesson Plan, the lecturer use slide with LCD
projector. The lecturer used LCD projector by showing slide to the student in
explain the material namely lesson plan. By using the slide, the lecturer can
show the example of lesson plan to the student and it make the lecturer can
easy in explaining step by step how to arrange the lesson plan.
Students’ Response on the Lecturer’s Strategy in Teaching Lesson
Planning in Curriculum Development and Syllabus Design Subject at Fifth
Semester of TBI IAIN Madura are various. The student’s response on the
lecturer’s strategy in teaching lesson planning in curriculum development and
syllabus design subject at fifth semester are pay attention, comfortable, bored,
they can know how to arrange the lesson plan, enjoy, understand, and don’t
understand.
The researcher has some suggestions that can be used to improve the
teaching learning effectiveness as the following ; The strategy used should be
more interactive the cheer up the classroom condition that make student easy
to understand the subject especially in arranging the lesson plan, the student
can prepare before the class that make the activities in the class is more active
and interactive and for other researcher to conduct a research on the
effectiveness of the use of presentation with slides using LCD projector.
