THE IMPLEMENTATION OF REPORTING NEWS STRATEGY ON STUDENTS SPEAKING SKILL AT THE EIGHT GRADE OF SMPN 8 PAMEKASAN

Speaking skill is the produktive skill in oral mode. The goal of this skill is that the students are able to polite and speak correctly also fluently in English language. Speaking means to converse or expressing one’s thoughts and feelings in spoken language. The skills will gives the ability to communicate effectively especially on students’ speaking skill in the eighth grade at SMPN 8 Pamekasan. There are two research focuses of this research. The first, how does the teacher implements reporting news strategy on students speaking skill at the eight grade of SMPN 8 Pamekasan and the second what are the advantages and disadvantages of reporting news strategy on students speaking skill at the eight grade of SMPN 8 Pamekasan. The researcher used a qualitative approach and uses descriptive research as kind of research because this research will focus mainly on reporting news used by the teacher in teaching speaking. In collecting data, the researcher uses non participant observation, types of interview that is used by the researcher is structure interview and documentation. Based on the result of the observation, documentation and interview that the use of reporting news in teaching speaking at the eight grade of SMPN 8 Pamekasan, by using three sections: pre-teaching, whilst-teaching and postteaching, and advantages and disadvantages in using reporting news in teaching speaking is the strategy useful for the English teacher and students since it makes teaching learning process in speaking section is active and enjoyable. The researcher hope after learning by using reporting news the students could improve the students speaking well. The disadvantages in this strategy the students fell nervous so make the atmosphere of the class became tense. Finally, reporting news strategy is very effective for teacher and students especially in teaching learning speaking. It is shown with the good responses of students through the use of reporting news strategy, this study is expected to be useful for the reader and future researcher.
