TEACHING WRITING BY USING WORD STAR TECHNIQUE OF FOURTH GRADE AT SDN POLAGAN I GALIS PAMEKASAN

Teaching is the process of tranferring knowledge, skill or attitude. Teaching writing to young learners will be success when the teachers choose the suitable technique when teaches their students. Therefor the teacher in SDN Polagan I Galis uses word star technique in teaching writing of fourth grade students. In this research there are two research focuses. They are how the teacher uses word star technique in teaching writing of fourth grade at SDN Polagan I Galis and what the advantages and disadvantages of word star technique in teaching writing of fourth grade at SDN Polagan I Galis. In this research, the researcher uses qualitative approach, while kind of research, the researcher uses descriptive research. Because it is intended to describe how the teacher uses word star technique in teaching writing and the advantages and disadvantages of word star technique of fourth grade at SDN Polagan I Galis. The researcher finding of the teaching writing by using word star technique of fourth grade at SDN Polagan I Galis runs well because the steps has been done by the teacher in teaching and learning process, it means that by using word star technique the students are able be write the word correctly because the teacher using a keyword in order that the students can find the vocabulary that has correlation with the keyword. So that the students easier to arrange the word. There are three advantages of word star technique are improves students writing skill, makes the students easier to arrange the word/sentence, makes the students are easier to find the new word, while the disadvantage of word star technique is the students should be able to have much vocabulary. Finally, this research is expected to be useful for the reader and the researcher in the future. The researcher believed that this thesis is far from being perfect, so the researcher will accept good suggestion and constructive criticism to make this thesis perfect. The researcher also hopes that this thesis will be useful and contribute some valuable thing to the further researcher and to the reader generally that want to conduct similar study.
