THE CORRELATION BETWEEN STUDENTS’ SEMANTIC UNDERSTANDING AND STUDENTS’ READING COMPREHENSION AT THE TENTH CLASS OF SMK TKJ IN MATSARATUL HUDA PANEMPAN PAMEKASAN

In learning English, There are four English basic skills that must be taught to English learners that are; listening, speaking, reading and writing. But speaking becomes the most important one and demand to be mastered because actually all English learners have the same goal that is they can be seen successful in learning English is when they are able to use the language or can reading accurately and fluently with other people. Furthermore, to reach this aim English learner should know how to use different word and phrases in sentences, this means that they have to be accustomed for always to listen something that relate to Ianguage of inggris with always or habitually they listen hence hearing of them will be more goodness. semantic is Iesson related to meaning a word and where will make to understand in a word meaning the researcher will conduct a research about the correlation between students’ Semantic Understanding and Students’ Reading Comprehension at The Tenth Class of SMK TKJ in Matsaratul Huda Panempan Pamekasan
In this case, the researcher used quantitative approach by using correlational design. The population is at The Tenth Class of SMK TKJ in Matsaratul Huda Panempan Pamekasan, which contains of 25 students. The researcher uses test and documentation as the instruments of gathering data and uses product moment’s pattern to analyse the data.
The result of this research showed that the The Tenth Class students’ Semantic Understanding and Students’ Reading Comprehension at The Tenth Class of SMK TKJ in Matsaratul Huda Panempan Pamekasan because the alternative hypothesis is accepted, which the significance statistically is 5%. It proved that the obtained rxy is higher than the value of rtable (rxy: 0,775 > rtable: 0,396).
Based on the result above, the researcher suggested for SMK TKJ in Matsaratul Huda Panempan Pamekasan must provide best program in the school to give best service for all students in English study. Suggestion for committee must cooperate well with all of educational server in the school creating good programs then evaluation must be conducted to take place continuously besides school because this school pertained will mount to become school to accredit hence will be more very good to trying to find new innovations to the make-up of better.
Suggestion for the teacher of Ianguage of inggris suggested to have high motivation or new methods to student which don't have or ability of student’s less enthusiastic in word meaning mengatahui and to read Ianguage of inggris. Hence giving more attention to they so that they strive to learn, remain to the spirit. and give opportunity at all of student to increase interest of them in learning Ianguage of inggris. Suggestion for student have to obey regulations which there are in school. Student have to be more give attention to clarification of teacher and have to become active student so that can improve knowledge of them it is true really have deeper ability of Iesson of Ianguage of inggris.
