THE MORPHOLOGICAL ANALYSIS OF COMPOUND NOUN IN COMPUTER TERM

A compound noun contains two or more words that join together to make a single noun. A compound noun is a type of compound word that is used to designate a person, place or thing. Compound nouns can be formed in several ways, which is one reason that the writing of these words in English can be tricky.
This phenomenon makes the researcher interested to research. There are two research focus in this research. The first, kinds of compound noun that particularity appears in computer term, the second, the computer user difficulties in understanding the meaning of compound noun in computer term.
In this research, the researcher used qualitative descriptive. The researcher analysis kinds of compound noun that particularity appears in computer term. To obtain the data, the researcher used two instruments as main instrument namely observation and interview and documentation as supporting instrument.
From the result of research, the researcher find and analyzesthere are 40 words consist of 7 verb+noun, 23 noun+noun, 9 adjective+noun and 1 preposition+noun. That all of them include compound noun in the computer term. From all result of interview in this research that the difficulties that TBI students feel when they understand compound noun in computer, even though there are those who have studied compound noun at campus, they are still having difficulties in their intentions because the compound noun is two syllables which can be a combination of noun with one another where the results of these combinations produce new meaning. Moreover in computer have special words even though there are some words that they understand but in intent in the computer itself is different from what they understand because in computer have certain special language and the average the language in the computer is high.So, difficult to understand the meaning of compound noun in computer term.
