THE EFFECT OF THINK PAIR SHARE TECHNIQUE ON ELEVENTH GRADERS GRAMMAR MASTERY AT MA MIFTAHUT THULLAB KEDUNGDUNG SAMPANG

Grammar is partly the study of what form (or structure) are possible in a language. Traditionally, grammar has been concerned almost exclusively with analysis at the level of sentence. Thus a grammar is description of the rules that govern how a language’s sentence are formed. Think pair share is one of type in cooperative learning that designed to influence student interaction .This type also require students to work with each other in small groups.
This research composes one problem of study. The prblem is Will eleventh graders have better Grammar Mastery after the implementation of Think Pair Share Techniqueat MA Miftahut Thullab Kedungdung Sampang? This research was mainly aimed to measure whether yes or not the use of Think Pair Share Technique affects students’ grammar mastery.
This research is quantitative approach where the research design is using pre experimental research design. There are two variables in this study; they are Think Pair Share Technique as independent variable, and gramar mastery of eleventh grade students at MA MIftahut Thullab Kedungdung Sampang as dependent variable. Target population of this research is 20 students at eleventh grade. Therefore, the technique sample which the researcher used is purposive sample. The research instruments which used in this study are grammar test and documentations.
Pre-test is conducted to know students grammar mastery before given treatment. after the pre-test is given to the students, they are given treatmen by the teacher. treatment here is done by the teacher using Think Pair Share Tchnique Meanwhile the post-test is conducted after given treatment. The obtained data from the test was analyzed using dependent t-test formula.
The result of this research showed that the eleventh graders have better Grammar Mastery after the implementation of Think Pair Share Technique in the other word Think Pair Share Technique is affective to improve grammar mastery, the value of t obtained is higher than the value of t table. ( to > tt = 2,606 > 2,09 ).
