Language laboratory is a special room which is completed with some electronic audio video equipments such as computer, headsets, LCD projector, and also cassette that contain the materials of learning. In language laboratory students will learn listening subject. Listening is one English skill, it is an ability to receive information from the speaker. Learning listening in language laboratory make the students more interesting because students can hear original sound from the native.
There are two research problem of this study, the first one is whether there is any influences of language laboratory for listening skill at the second semester students of English teaching learning program IAIN Madura. The second one is how far language laboratory influence listening skill of second semester students of English teaching learning program IAIN Madura. This study is to find out the influence of language laboratory for listening skill at the second semester students and to measure how far the use of language laboratory influence listening skill of second semester students of English teaching learning program IAIN Madura.
In this study, the researcher uses a quantitative approach, the population of this research are all of students at the second semester of English teaching learning program IAIN Madura which consist of 152 students. The researcher take sample in B class consist of 36 students. The instrument which were used in conducting the research are questionnaire and test.
The result of this research shows the correlation between the use of language laboratory and listening skill at the second semester students of English teaching learning program IAIN Madura. It is proved from the result of correlation coefficient r product moment for N=36 the value is 0,413, while in level of standard 5% is 0,3291. Furthermore, for score of rdf=34 got score 0,3291 is consulted with the table interpretation of coefficient correlation r product moment. The value 0,413 is in interpretation 0,40 till 0,70 is enough. So, the alternative hypothesis is accepted. Based on the result of the research, there is influence of language laboratory to students listening skill at the second semester student of IAIN Madura.
