The Students’ Difficulties in Understanding Quantitative Language Research Methodology (QLRM) Subject Delivered in English at the Sixth Semester of TBI at IAIN Madura

In teaching English there are four skills, namely listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The students will get easy in learning of all the skills if they can master Listening, because Listening will support the learning of language skill development. The student’s difficulties in listening English, because the lecturer uses English in his explanation, because the factor can make the students difficult in understanding the material.
There are three problems of the study in this research; what are the students' difficulties, the factors of students' difficulties and the solution of students' difficulties in listening Quantitative Language Research Methodology Taught in English at Sixth Semester of TBI at IAIN Madura.
This research uses descriptive qualitative. The data mostly is gathered from the observation, interview, and documentation. In four classes A, B, and D Class. The data analysis that is used by the researcher are data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing or verification. To check data validity, the researcher use triangulation of data source and triangulation of technique.
The result of the research, the difficulties that the students got or found in listening English explanation by the lecturer faced the sixth semester students of TBI department at IAIN Madura are: Lack of vocabulary, difficulty in pronunciation, difficulty in explanation of the lecturer and difficulty in the material. From some of the reason are needed solutions which will make the difficulties be solved, so that they can solve their difficulties. The solutions are: the students must memorize many vocabularies and study about the pronunciation, and the students prepare the program before the class.
According to the research above, the researcher suggests that the English teacher to use easy English especially vocabulary, and pronunciation. By use easy language and slowly and mixing into Indonesian, students will understand and they can motivate to learning of the subject, should prepare before going to teach.
